Massachusetts Hotel Reservations
Communities throughout Massachusetts make the most of summer by taking to the outdoors. The Old Colony State’s many parks are ripe for exploration, miles of coastline are perfect for some scenic relaxation, and communities from Pittsfield to Plymouth are gearing up for more family-friendly fun than any other time of year.
With the sun shining bright and the Atlantic Coast full of life, summer is the perfect time to embark on a scenic driving tour along the Maritime Trail. Plymouth is a great place to start – there visitors can go back in time with the help of attractions like the Mayflower II and Plimoth Plantation. Continue inland to towns like Worcester and Marlborough to find a sense of central Massachusetts’ colorful culture and charming character.
Of course, Boston is known for its history of rock and hip hop music scenes, but visitors venturing outside the city will encounter an eclectic array of sounds this summer. From July 29th through 31st, the city of Lowell celebrates with the 2016 Lowell Folk Festival. It’s a weekend of parades, vendors, ethnic foods, folk music, and more throughout the downtown area.
Further west, Pittsfield celebrates its cultural diversity with the 2016 Pittsfield Ethnic Fair on August 7th. It’s an afternoon of unique foods, dance, music, and more, filling North Street in downtown Pittsfield from noon to 8 p.m.
Warmer waters mean it’s fishing season in the Bay State, and anglers in Plymouth visitors enjoy quick access to some of the best places to cast a line. Head to Green Harbor Marina, just north of town, and launch a fishing trip on Green Harbor, Plymouth Harbor, and Cape Cod Bay for the chance to reel in tuna, haddock, cod, and more.
On August 19th and 20th, Plymouth visitors can pay homage to the founding fathers at Jenney Museum. The 2016 Celebrate Freedom event is two days of special activities, like tours, educational programs, entertainment, and more. Reservations are open now.
