With a continuing boom in popularity across the US, soccer can now be considered a major professional sport across the country. Boston, and the general state of Massachusetts, has a legion of dedicated and excited fans – the New England Revolution is the team they support.
A charter member of Major League Soccer, the Revolution have been exciting fans on the pitch since 1995, when the league was founded. The MLS season kicks off in March and plays through late October. Plan your visit for the Boston area and Foxborough during those days and catch a glimpse of all the action. The Revolution call Gillette Stadium home, and are headquartered in Foxborough, just south of Boston and Sharon.
Massachusetts, and in particular the eastern region, yields some excellent summer and fall adventures. Along with Exciting soccer matches, you'll want to visit Harvard University – found in Cambridge, don't pass on a tour of the iconic school. If you visit near the end of the MLS season, expect to be awed by the natural beauty of the fall foliage.
