Visiting Boston

There will be much to see and do this fall in Boston. As you plan your visit to Bean Town for late 2016, you’ll find a wide range of premier festivals, events, concerts and more sure to entertain all members of your group. From downtown Boston to nearby suburbs like Quincy and Waltham, the Greater Boston area will be awash in autumn hues and buzzing with exceptional entertainment options.

One of Boston’s premier and most impressive event venues is the TD Garden. Sports fans will know the TD Garden as the home of the Boston Celtics of the NBA and the Boston Bruins of the NHL. On top of a full slate of exciting basketball and hockey games scheduled for the fall, the TD Garden will also be hosting a number of excellent performances – make the drive in from nearby Woburn or Cambridge and see for yourself.

From October 13th to 16th the TD Garden will present Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s The Greatest Show on Earth: Circus Extreme, an ideal show for visiting families. On November 9th you can check out a live performance from the band Pentatonix at 7:30 p.m. As you approach the end of 2016, don’t miss a live performance from the iconic tenor Andrea Bocelli. He’ll perform at the TD Garden on December 17th at 8 p.m.

Football fans in the Boston area will have plenty to cheer about this fall. The hometown favorite New England Patriots will play eight NFL home games in late 2016, and the Boston College Eagles will face challengers through the end of November.

The drive from Boston to nearby Foxboro will be quick – head there to find Gillette Stadium, home field of the Patriots. On November 13th the Patriots will take on the always-tough Seattle Seahawks, and on December 24th the Patriots play their final home game of the 2016 season against the New York Jets.

For all the excitement and pageantry offered by college football, make your way to Alumni Stadium on the campus of Boston College in nearby Chestnut Hill. The BC Eagles will feature some marquee matchups this fall, including the Louisville Cardinals on November 5th, and the Uconn Huskies on November 19th.

One of Boston’s most-cherished holiday traditions is the annual First Night First Day. Make the most of your New Year’s Eve celebration in Boston at Copley Square on December 31st. You’ll find ice sculptures, games, food, music, fireworks, and plenty of fun for the whole family.
