Massachusetts Hotel Reservations
Walden Pond State Reservation
Make plans to visit Massachusetts and head for Concord, home of the popular Walden Pond. Somewhat famously, Walden Pond's northern shore was the home of writer Henry David Thoreau from 1845-1847 – his experiences were converted into a book titled, "Walden; or, Life in the Woods." The publishing of that book seemingly placed Walden on the figurative map.
With a surface area of 61 acres, Walden Pond is a popular summer destination for aquatic adventures in MA – locals from nearby Waltham and Chelmsford make frequent trips. A visit to the Concord Museum yields access to some select furnishings from the cabin where Thoreau lived. You can visit the Thoreau cabin replica on your visit to Walden Pond.
